Silver Spring MARC Station

The Silver Spring MARC Station project involved the relocation of the station and construction of a two-level pedestrian platform with access to the platforms. The project also included the construction of an enclosed steel bridge suspended across commuter, WMATA and freight rails. The bridge was accessed through and suspended from two cast-in-place concrete towers. The towers included steel pan stairs, elevators, curtain wall glazing, ventilation systems and fire protection. The rails remained fully operational during construction.
