:: The HESS Culture Promotes Learning

Internships at HESSIn today’s competitive professional world, the most qualified job candidates possess more than classroom experience. They leave college and enter their chosen fields with experience gained through enriching internships with prominent organizations.

As a leader in our industry, HESS places high value on our interns’ experience. The internship program at HESS is designed to provide students with valuable work experience that bridges the gap between academic theory and practice. We offer summer internships to Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, and Civil Engineering students who have demonstrated a passion and commitment for a career in construction. Our internship program is based out of our headquarters in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Those participating in our internship program can expect to spend the majority of their time on various project sites throughout the greater Washington, DC/Baltimore region.

Training

Interns will participate in an extensive training program which will offer them the necessary exposure to become successful contributors to our organization. HESS’ internship program is more than a summer job. It’s a professional and educational experience that prepares students for a successful transition to a challenging and rewarding career. It is also a chance for HESS to see students in action, matching the talents and interests of today’s brightest minds to the emerging trends of our business.

Housing

HESS provides corporate housing for out-of-state interns. Corporate housing is located minutes from the HESS main office, and in close proximity to Washington, DC, Baltimore and other major cities in Maryland and Virginia.

Housing is within walking distance to the Washingtonian Center. This area offers a variety of entertainment opportunities such as restaurants, movie theatres and premier shopping. Also located within minutes to housing is the Metrorail, which provides an efficient and ideal way to travel throughout the Washington Metro DC area.

Benefits and Scholarship Opportunities
